Russian World TV was born in Russia and later «emigrated» to the United States. Unlike most emigrants, this one knew from the very beginning that it would leave its home country for a new home. Its parents designated their child for life abroad, notably in America.

The Russian World brand is owned by VKT-R(Russia). The following companies are the founders and shareholders of VKT-R:

1. VKT Enterprises — Founded in 1989, VKT Enterprises was a groundbreaker in the field of television and video production in the early 90’s, when Russia was just starting its long and painstaking journey to market economy. Its three-letter acronym is deciphered as «Video, Kino, Televideniye», which means «Video, Cinema, Television».

   VKT’s diversified operations include the production and distribution of television programming; television, satellite and cable broadcasting; production and distribution of promotional and advertising products and services; distribution of motion pictures; creation and development of a network of onsite screen panels that are placed in Moscow supermarkets and grocery stores and carry information and advertising.

2. Russian TV and Radio Networks (RTRS) — a governmental agency, the owner of a network of transmitting and retransmitting facilities, both radio and TV, on the territory of Russia, including the Ostankino TV tower in Moscow, one of the world’s tallest structures.

3. StroiMediaResurs LLC — television and broadcasting equipment.

VKT-R has concluded a series of agreements with Russian TV channels and other program-producing entities. As a result, Russian World TV has the ability to offer its viewers a unique product, composed of the best programs from different sources.
